February! ( a post I never posted...)

The holidays at home (both Seattle and various parts of Texas) were wonderful!

Mike and Nolan's fried turkey!

Dinner in Seattle with a Navy Cross Recepient Met up with a few of Nolan's friends from high school... Porter, Kerry and JackNolan's "physics lesson" with Jayci (our neice)

It was so nice to see everyone, although there never seems to be enough time to see and do all that we want when we visit home...

Two weeks after getting back home to North Carolina, I jumped on another pla
ne back home for Stacy (my cousin) and Brad's wedding....

It is hard to believe that a whole month of 2010 has already come and gone!! I can not be more grateful, as it means the school year is rounding the corner and heading toward the end!
January was a whirlwind at school... due to meetings for this, that and the other, during school as well as after school, there were only 2 days (that I can recall) that I was able to leave at 3:15pm (which is when 99% of my peers head home for the day).... I suppose being overl
y busy helped the month FLY by! :-) January also brought a change of curriculum in one of my reading classes... for now I am using a Language! program, although hopefully in mid-February I will get the Corrective Reading books, I would really like to use to help my students to improve their reading!

Nolan had a bit more down time than he wanted in January, but the last week or so brought many back to back night and day flights as well as his final SIM (simulator) event! He is expected (aircraft available and weather permitting) to complete his last check ride at VMMT-204 (the Osprey training squadron) on Tuesday, February 2! So, hopefully by the end of the week he will be checking in to his new squadron, VMM-263, the Thunder Chickens!

We are both welcoming February 2010 as it will bring new beginnings for Nolan
- his assigned squadron (for the next few years) as an Operations Officer ie- flight schedule writer! Since his squadron assignment changed from 365 to 263, it is looking like he won't deploy until Spring 2011 - YAY! I am, of course, welcoming February, as it brings me to a short month, that will lead me to the last few months of the school year! June 10th - the last day for kids - is going to make for a very happy 4th wedding anniversary gift!
