New House!

Soon?.......

If you click the picture, I believe you can zoom the floor plan...

Half of this is what it will pretty much look like...
a single family home.

When we moved into base housing on MCAS New River in July 2009 we were told that for sure by the following summer we would be moving into new housing....

Well, it is January 2011 and still here we are in our 1950s home. Don't get me wrong, we truly love it, but we were looking forward to a new house! The wood floors throughout are amazing - although they allow Sandi's dog hair to float around the house vice carpet which keeps it in one spot until you vacuum. We won't miss that aspect.

Believe it or not, the new housing is currently being built! They are way behind schedule, but they are making progress none the less. We were told in October that our current house will be torn down by July 2011, so we would definitely be moved into the new housing (which is a few miles away from our current house, and at the front gate of the base, as opposed to being in the very back of the base) by then. I highly doubt we will be moved in by July 2011, but maybe they will prove me wrong.

None the less, the new houses are available for touring on Friday! Get exited!! I am very much looking forward to seeing them and finding out whether or not Patrick Street is on their move in plan window yet... In October, our street, Patrick St, was going to be the last to move and frankly they had no details about moving us. Boo hiss!

We are excited to have a brand new house and I think most especially to have a garage again! We currently have a car port and a very nice size storage closet in the house, but since we moved everything out of the guest room, to make room for Liam's nursery, Nolan's man-cave has become man-cave/office/guest room/dumping ground for everything else! :-/ Carpet will be appreciated as well, mainly because of Sandi's shedding hair!

We will keep you posted; hoping we can move before Nolan deploys in late June/early July, but as of now there is no telling.
